Small little me just doesn’t fit anymore
It cannot sustain the vibrancy of my beingness
It cries out when I am ready for adventure
It crumbles when I am ready to soar
It suffers when I’m in the thrall of innovation
It drops into fears, I flourish in unknown
Dreams with no direction wasting time
It is innocent in its ways, yes
I touch it’s cheek tenderly in understanding
With love I embrace it into safety
I love it as a part of me, yes
And it just can no longer drive
Small me doesn’t have wings
I do.
